I am not sure how sustainable this workload is.

I teach computer technology in middle school and students are not responding well to virtual learning
We have recently gone virtual with the middle school and high school due to counts rising. Our elementary school is still going strong!
Do the students need a Gmail address? Do the parents need a Gmail address?
Hi Angeline - These resources might be able to help you get started: https://sharemylesson.com/teaching-resource/intro-google-classroom-3041… and https://sharemylesson.com/blog/distance-learning-with-google
I am SO ready to get our students back!
We started out virtual, moved to 2 weeks of hybrid and we are now in our second week of all in 5 days/week.
We're taking a pause from our normal professional development webinars to focus on our mental and physical health. Over the course of the next several weeks we are bringing fitness instructors, social-emotional and mental health leaders, and nutritionists together so we can collectively “workout” and de-stress our bodies and our minds.

By signing up for a free wellness session and this health and wellness community, you can enter for a chance to win an Apple Watch 6!

Enter for a chance to win an apple watch 6 here: https://sharemylesson.com/wellness-2020

Join the Health and Wellness Community here: https://sharemylesson.com/community/groups/health-and-wellness-communit… you'll come workout with us! :)
- Kelly Booz, Director of AFT's Share My Lesson
Thanks for sharing this series with us. It will be fun to let off some steam in a fun way.
Agreed! I have absolutely no rhythm, but I'll be doing Zumba on camera... eek! :)
What's working? What's challenging? Do you have any tips or lessons learned you can share?

Meanwhile, we put together a list of the top distance learning webinars we've done since March. Our governor has created a Covid map that is vastly different from the Harvard map. His “map” makes things seem safer than they are here. Even with his map, we have been out of the classroom for nearly a month because we have been in the red and orange designations. I feel as if we are losing the best part of the school year right now.
Thanks for sharing, @ccardwel...sounds frustrating, indeed!
There have been challenges but overall it has been a good experience. The main issue is reaching out to the students who are not joining the live lessons or turning in assignments.
The struggle is real when, there are students not tuned in to remote learning. Unfortunately, with this our first pandemic and attempting to teach over the internet, with the added inequity of the ability to enforce learning at home. There are communities where it is not accepted as realistic. There are other pressing issues at home. For example, where is the next meal and Uncle Charlie and his family have to move in with us. etc...
Feel the same!????
