About This Lesson

The 20 illustrated cards show aspects of life that students have to decide are either a 'want' or a 'need', leading to recognition that 'needs' are also 'rights'. The cards are an ideal way of introducing children's rights and the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child.

They are suitable for 8-16-year-olds.

There are also two A4 sheets for teachers with accompanying activities and a summary of the Convention.

Fantastic!

These cards are a brilliant resource to use in school with children to get them discussing the differences between needs and wants and how this relates to our rights in society. Thank you I will use these over and over again!

Very useful set of Wants and Needs cards with several activities to support a unit on differentiating between wants and needs. Includes a summary of the UN convention on Children's Rights.
